Amazing Thailand
1 month ago I was sitting here at home, typing away at the same place, about packing up and leaving for my adventure. Now, it looks as though I’ve never left, in a cinematographic point of view. But things are different. For one, my bedsheets. And of course, I put on a bit of weight. Just a bit. Mostly, the change took place on the inside. It’s the intangibles that always change...

Where your heart is, there your treasure be.
The heart’s a rebel and there’s no way you could cheat it into believing that something that matters does not. There’s no possible alternative to feeling the impact of home, a thousand miles away, no matter how fast and well the adaptation takes place. I can keep going. My roots are adaptors. But I will always miss home.

When you're alone, the world is full of...
Right where I am, I look around and I see no boundaries but I’m too far from everything. It all seems strangely far. Yet, I know, the physical distance makes no difference. What I desire is an oxymoron that language cannot justify. I know wherever I go I am never really alone. But I’m never really connected to anyone either. It scares me sometimes to think that the further I go, the...

Walk On Fire
From past experiences, I’ve come to know that one very essential skill for traveling is walking. Yesterday I walked from Lumphini park to Queen Srikit Convention Center for a fair that starts only 3 days later (got the date wrong so I got there for nothing). Well, it didn’t look so far away on the map. It took me an hour, depending solely on my instincts and broken Thai for...

Road trippin'
We’re leaving for Krabi, heaven on earth 11 hours away. Road trip with one driver and one baby means that we’ve got no better choice than to stopover at a halfway mark both on the way there and on the way back. It’ll be a total of 5 nights including the Krabi stay. 22 hours on the road. Rule number one: bring tons of snacks. Rule number two: make sure snacks are high in sugar.
